The Skandi Vitoria PLSV is owned by a 50-50 joint venture between DOF Subsea and TechnipFMC. It is of an STX OSCV 06 design, and the first pipelay vessel built in Brazil back in 2010.

DOF Subsea said on Thursday that the contract with TechnipFMC would begin in January with a validity of two years plus options.

The vessel has been in lay-up since the summer of 2018 and CEO of DOF Mons Aase stated that he was pleased with the contract award and having the vessel back in operations.

The vessel is equipped with vertical and horizontal pipe-lay systems, a 250 mt crane, and two ROVs. It is capable of operating in water depths up to 3,000 meters and it is suited for pipe laying, subsea construction, and installation and maintenance work.

To remind, the last time Offshore Energy Today reported on a contract for the Skandi Vitória back in January 2017 . Brazilian oil company Petrobras had awarded the Skandi Vitoria a contract of 532 days.
