Leask Marine has expanded its Wales base, moving from Marine Energy Wales’ Marine Energy Hub.
Starting from 2020, Leask Marine has moved to a light industrial unit on Pier Road in Pembroke Dock, to have workshop and equipment storage space, as well as administrative offices.
Leask Marine established an office base in Wales, as part of Marine Energy Wales’ ‘Marine Energy Hub’ in May 2017.
The company has been working with Marine Energy Wales members since 2015, to give expert advice and support regarding planned Welsh projects.
The move from the Hub to a commercial unit makes way for the next step in Leask Marine’s expansion of operations in Wales, as part of its Coastal Communities Fund Project to create jobs and increase investment in marine operations.
John MacLeod , Leask Marine commercial manager, said: “Being within the Marine Energy Hub has enabled Leask Marine to be in touch with the requirements of the industry at a regional level and develop equipment and new services to support developers to move towards commercialisation.”
David Jones , project director of Marine Energy Wales, stated: “We established the Marine Energy Hub in collaboration with the Port of Milford Haven to assist marine energy companies in Wales by providing a dynamic workspace. Over the past 4 years the Hub has been home to over 10 companies and we have seen the benefits this collaborative work environment can bring. We have been pleased to host Leask Marine whilst they established their base in Wales and we wish them success in their expanded operations.”
