The Dutch SeaMar Group has acquired the vessel owning company Alaborg Offshore Services BV.

The acquisition comes as SeaMar wanted to strengthen its services due to the growing demand for guard vessels in the offshore wind sector.

The Dutch company said it has been a provider of guard vessels to the offshore industry over the past 13 years, during which it already had a partial interest in Alaborg Offshore Services BV.

SeaMar will now take over guard vessels Alaborg, Pelican I and Alcedo.

“We are excited to take on the full management for these vessels and thus allowing us to continue delivering reliable assets to the offshore oil & gas and wind industry,” said Leo Balkema , Managing Director of SeaMar.

“With the acquisition of Alaborg Offshore Services BV we look to the future with confidence and expect further optimization of our services.”
