Loads & Control Engineer Position Up for Grabs at Orbital Marine

Orbital Marine Power (formerly known as Scotrenewables Tidal Power) is looking for a full time loads & control engineer to develop design improvements to its turbine dynamic controller.

The loads & control engineer will join the team at the time when the company starts the construction of the ‘Orbital O2-2000’ turbine, the UK’s first floating tidal stream turbine to go into commercial production.

The O2 is due to be completed during 2020 with a scheduled deployment at EMEC for commissioning and testing.

The role will be primarily focused on optimizing the turbine dynamic controller for use on a floating structure in the tidal environment, but will also involve supporting the testing of the O2-2000 turbine in Orkney.

The successful candidate will work closely with the hydrodynamic modelling and C&I teams, as well as external specialists.
