Siemens Gamesa has shared a video showing the installation of its 1,000th offshore Direct Drive wind turbine.

The milestone unit is the 51st turbine that Siemens Gamesa installed on the 714MW East Anglia One offshore wind project in the UK.

According to Siemens Gamesa, the 1,000 turbines cover more than 20 sites all over the world and have a total combined capacity of more than 6.5GW.

Based on the collected performance data, the Direct Drive offshore wind turbine fleet has produced approximately 34.6TWh of electricity since the first unit was installed eight years ago.
