French LNG containment specialist GTT has been contracted to design liquefied natural gas tanks for an LNG carrier pair being built for the Japanese shipowner K Line.

The vessels are being constructed at the Chinese shipyard Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group), GTT said in its statement.

Each vessel will have the capacity to transport up to 79,960 cubic meters of the chilled fuel.

GTT will design the tanks of the vessels, which will be fitted with the NO96 L03+ membrane containment system.

The delivery of the vessels is planned during the second quarter of 2022.
