Oil and gas pipe services provider Shawcor has said that its pipe coating division has entered into a contract with Subsea 7 to provide thermal insulation coating services for Woodside’s Sangomar offshore project in Senegal.

The value of the award is in the range of CAD$30-$50 million ($22.6 million – $37.6 million).
Shawcor said earlier this week that the work was scheduled to be executed from its Orkanger, Norway facility starting in the first quarter of 2021 and completing in the second quarter of 2021.
The Sangomar Field Development Phase 1 was approved by the Rufisque Offshore, Sangomar Offshore and Sangomar Deep Offshore (RSSD) joint venture and entered the execute phase of activities, including major contract awards in January 2020.
The key contractors for the development are: MODEC for the purchase of an FPSO with an oil processing capacity of 100,000 bbl/day; Subsea Integration Alliance (a non-incorporated alliance between Subsea 7 and OneSubsea) for the construction and installation of the integrated subsea production systems and subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines; and Diamond Offshore for two well-based contracts for the drill rigs Ocean BlackRhino and Ocean BlackHawk.
In addition, following a letter of intent from Janaury for the Baltic Pipe project valued at approximately CAD$67 million ($50.4M), Shawcor announced that it has now entered into the definitive contract for such project.
