Ocean Infinity, a seabed survey and ocean exploration company, has been awarded a contract with ExxonMobil for geophysical and geotechnical data acquisition off Guyana.

Ocean Infinity said on Friday that it would conduct a high-resolution autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) geophysical and geotechnical data acquisition within the Stabroek block offshore Guyana.
The company will simultaneously deploy its advanced AUVs in water depths of between 70 and 2,150 meters over an area of approximately 3,100 square kilometers.
Ocean Infinity recently expanded its fleet of AUVs.
Paul Helmore , Ocean Infinity’s CCO, said: “We are very pleased to be supporting ExxonMobil in Guyana with our advanced data acquisition technology, to help them identify and evaluate seabed conditions on the Stabroek block.
“Our innovative use of sustainable, low-impact technology will support their development of the acreage and ultimately to meet the region’s growing energy demand.”
ExxonMobil said in January that its estimated recoverable resource base in Guyana had increased to more than 8 billion oil equivalent barrels.
The oil major hit oil one more time in Guyana last month at the Uaru exploration well northeast of the producing Liza field . This was the 16th discovery on the Stabroek block.
