Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA) is currently seeking applications for a Project Director to lead on the exciting Mersey Tidal Power project, based in Liverpool City Region.

The Mersey Tidal Power project is a key priority for Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram, with the potential to power up to 1 million homes by 2030, underpinning the city region’s pledge to become zero carbon by 2040. A team of industry advisors have concluded a year-long study which has demonstrated a strong strategic case for taking the project forward. The project is now ready to move onto the next phase of development to determine the preferred option.

We are seeking an experienced professional to take up the role of Project Director. This person will work very closely with the Chair of the Mersey Tidal Commission and lead a dedicated multi-disciplinary project team to develop a preferred option by 2022, in preparation for planning consents and investment. This will involve managing specialist disciplines including Hydrodynamic Modellers, Marine, Civil and Mechanical Engineers as well as environmental specialists who will carry out a detailed analysis of the environmental impact/potential mitigations

Mersey Tidal Power has the potential to have a game-changing influence on the UK Renewable Energy Sector and make a major contribution to tackling the Climate Emergency in Liverpool City Region and the UK as a whole. As well as strong leadership skills and a good technical background, the Project Director will need to have the ability to influence at senior levels in Government, with NGOs, suppliers and key individuals in the Marine and Renewable Energy Industry.

If you are interested in taking on this challenging and dynamic role and want to be part of a nationally significant, transformational energy project then please get in touch.

The Closing Date for Applications is: Thursday 12th March

Further roles for this new team will be advertised in the coming weeks – for updates please check
