Liquefied natural gas shipper GasLog said its newbuild HN2274 is about to complete its week-long sea trials.

The vessel, to be named Gaslog Wales, commenced sea trials last week and is set to complete the test on March 10, the company said in a brief statement through its social media channels.

The newbuild, capable of transporting 180,000 cubic meters of the chilled fuel features GTT’s Mark III Flex Plus containment system and low-pressure two-stroke (X-DF) propulsion.

The delivery of the vessel is expected in the second quarter of 2020 when it will start its charter contract with a unit of the Japanese LNG import giant JERA.

Following the commencement of the 12-year charter to JERA, GasLog Partners will have the right to acquire HN 2274 pursuant to the omnibus agreement between GasLog and GasLog Partners.
