Bladt Industries A/S has loaded out the last six transition pieces and anode cages for the Borssele 1 & 2 offshore wind farm project in the Netherlands.

Bladt Industries’ scope covered the manufacture of 59 transition pieces, each one weighing approximately 390 tonnes, with a diameter of up to 6 metres and a length of 26 metres.

Ørsted’s Borssele 1+2 will comprise 94 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines installed some 23 kilometres off the coast of Zeeland.

EEW OSB is in charge of delivering the remaining 35 transition pieces for the project. Sif Holding and EEW SPC are each manufacturing and delivering 47 monopiles.

Offshore construction at the site started in January with the installation of the first monopile foundation . The turbine installation is scheduled to start in April.

The 752MW offshore wind farm is scheduled to start operating by the end of 2020.
