30 monopile foundations and 14 inter-array cables have so far been installed on the 752MW Borssele 1 + 2 offshore wind farm in the Dutch North Sea, Ørsted.

Located some 23 kilometres off the coast of Zeeland, Borssele 1 + 2 will comprise 94 Siemens Gamesa 8MW wind turbines scheduled to be operational by the end of the year.

DEME Group’s jack-up vessel Innovation installed the first foundation at the site mid-January.

The first Nexans inter-array cable was transported and installed by Van Oord at the end of February.

Van Oord has deployed its dedicated cable-laying vessel Nexus and the trencher Dig-It to install and bury the 94 inter-array cables to a depth of 2 metres.

The installation of the wind turbines is planned to start in April.
