Norwegian offshore vessel operator Solstad Offshore has terminated bareboat charter agreements for two platform supply vessels (PSVs) owned by SFL Corporation.

Solstad said last Friday that the company and SFL Corporation had agreed to terminate the bareboat charter agreements for the Sea Halibut and Sea Pike PSV.
According to the company, both vessels have been in lay-up since 2016 and they will now be handed back to SFL.
These are the fourth and fifth vessels to be returned to SFL Corporation. Namely, Solstad terminated bareboat charter agreements for three SFL-owned anchor handlers last month .
The three vessels in question, the Sea Cheetah, Sea Jaguar, and Sea Leopard, have also been in lay-up since 2016.
Two of the vessels had been sold to an unrelated third party, while one vessel would be recycled in Norway at a green recycling facility according to the European Ship Recycling Regulation.
Solstad said at the time that it had a total of five vessels on charter with SFL and that bareboat charter agreements for the two remaining vessels would remain unchanged. Now, all five charters for SFL vessels have been terminated.
