Guangzhou Salvage Bureau has appointed SPT Offshore to install three suction pile jacket foundations at the CTGNE Yangxi Shaba Phase I offshore wind farm in China.

SPT Offshore will perform the suction installation services including all related engineering preparations, such as suction installation procedures and suction pile penetration analysis and grouting consultation.

The Netherlands-based company said it will deploy three of its new SAPS-007s suction pumps for the work.

The execution of the installation services is scheduled from July to August.

The Yangjiang Shapa Phase 1 wind farm is being developed by the China Three Gorges Group about 26km to the South of Shaba in Guangdong province.

The 300MW offshore wind project, which comprises 55 5.5MW turbines, started delivering electricity in November 2019.

It is part of a larger offshore wind project which once fully commissioned will have an installed capacity of over 1GW.
