ITPEnergised will support Offshore Wind Consultants (OWC) on the Erebus 96 MW floating wind project in the Celtic Sea, the UK-based consultancy company informed via social media on 25 March.

ITPEnergised will provide environmental, consenting and electrical engineering support to OWC.

“Working for the principal designer OWC, we will provide a lead role on consenting, bringing together the offshore and onshore aspects of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), being undertaken by Marine Space and ourselves, respectively. We will also be leading on the grid connection application and negotiation, preliminary electrical design works, and onshore engineering,” the company said.

The news on ITPEnergised joining the project comes a few days after Offshore Wind Consultants signed a contract to provide engineering services for the floating wind project, located in the Celtic Sea offshore Wales.

The contract is for a term of approximately three years, and the scope of work includes owners engineering and project development support, as well as holding the CDM role of Principal Designer.

The 96 MW floating wind farm, developed by Simply Blue Energy and Total, will be installed in an area with a water depth of 70 metres. The parties are planning to develop the project using Principle Power’s WindFloat technology.
