Independent completions service company Tendeka has signed a three-year contract with Mubadala Petroleum to supply sand-face completion equipment in Thailand.

Tendeka said on Monday that the deal would see the company supply its FloElite sand screens and FloSure autonomous inflow control devices (AICDs) to Mubadala Petroleum’s Jasmine, Manora, and Nong Yao fields in the Gulf of Thailand.
Apart from the initial duration of the contract, the deal also has the option of two one-year extensions.
Keith Parrott , Tendeka’s southeast Asia area manager, said: “This contract ensures our presence in Thailand for the next three to five years and serves as a basis to grow further across the region and emphasizes our commitment in providing technology to increase oil recovery rates for the life of the field.
“There is a significant challenge with early water breakthrough on oil producers. Our technology has the ability to choke back unwanted water from being produced to the surface and is recognized for delivering marked production enhancement around the world.
“We have previously supplied and installed AICD completions for Mubadala Petroleum with great success and look forward to delivering impressive results with the team again on this project.”
It is worth noting that Tendeka’s FloElite Range is a mesh sand screen designed with a press-fit assembly method constructed of a multi-layer design for drainage, filtration, convergence, and protection.
Mubadala’s Thai fields
As for the fields, Jasmine is 100-percent owned by Mubadala. The first Jasmine platform was installed in March 2005 and first oil was produced in June 2005. Today, the facilities consist of six platforms and one FPSO unit. The cumulative production stands at over 75 million barrels, a substantial increase from the estimate made at the time of purchase in 2004.
In November 2014, the Manora oil field started production. Mubadala is the operator and holds a 60 percent interest and the field includes a wellhead processing platform and an FSO vessel. The cumulative production is at over 15 million barrels.
And the last field that Tendeka won the contract for – the Nong Yao – started production in June 2015. Mubadala is the operator and holds a 90 percent interest. The facilities comprise a wellhead platform, a wellhead processing platform, and an FSO. Cumulative production so far is at more than 12 million barrels.
Apart from these three fields, Mubadala also holds a stake in another field in Thailand – the Erawan gas field. It will become an official partner there in April 2022 with a 40 percent working interest. The field is operated by PTTEP Energy Development Company.
