Siemens Gamesa turbines for German offshore wind farm

Siemens Gamesa has received a firm order to deliver its SG 8.0-167 DD Flex wind turbines for innogy’s 342 MW Kaskasi offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.

In total, Siemens Gamesa will manufacture and deliver 38 wind turbines for the project.

The order also comes with a two-year service and maintenance contract.

The installation of the wind turbines is expected to start in July 2022, Siemens Gamesa said.

Innogy secured the rights to build the project in Germany’s second offshore wind auction round held in the first half of 2018.

The wind farm is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2022.
