Manor Renewable Energy has established an operational hub at Siemens Gamesa’s manufacturing and port facility in Hull, the UK.
Manor said its new offices and presence on the Siemens Gamesa 450,000m 2 site means the business is geographically closer to its offshore wind customers.
“The Siemens Gamesa port in Hull offers us excellent services and facilities, to our customers’ benefit,” said Eric Briar , Managing Director of Manor Renewable Energy.
“Having already supported some of the largest wind farms in the world, including Hornsea One and East Anglia One, we are expanding our UK reach with a team based in Hull to allow us to be closer to the action.”
Siemens Gamesa opened the factory at Alexandra Dock in December 2016, when it officially unveiled the 75m long blade.
The company’s investment in the turbine assembly, rotor blade manufacturing factory and service facility is estimated to be around GBP 310 million.
The first blades manufactured in the Hull factory were delivered for the Race Bank offshore wind farm in 2017.
“Millions of pounds of investment went into this site to develop what is a world-scale hub for wind power manufacturing, logistics and assembly,” said James Maxwell , Port Operations Manager at Siemens Gamesa.
“Collaboration with industry partners is essential and we have an important role to play in supporting businesses to recognise and embrace potential opportunities within the renewables sector.”
