EnBW has awarded WIKING Helikopter Service GmbH with a contract to provide a rescue helicopter for the Hohe See and Albatros offshore wind farms in Germany.

WIKING Helikopter is in charge of providing a helicopter including aeronautical and medical crew which will be used for rescuing injured personnel at the projects.

Last year, the Germany-headquartered offshore flight specialist also won a contract by Siemens Gamesa to provide helicopter crew change services to the project sites from its base in Emden.

The 497 MW Hohe See wind farm comprises 71 Siemens Gamesa 7 MW turbines located some 95 km north of Borkum. All of the turbines were commissioned in early November 2019.

The adjacent Albatros project comprises 16 Siemens Gamesa SWT-7.0-154 turbines. The 112 MW offshore wind farm commenced operations this January.
