Giant oilfield services provider Halliburton booked a $1 billion loss in the first quarter of this year compared to a profit in the same period of 2019 due to the combination of low oil demand and resulting oversupply being further exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic.
Halliburton on Monday reported a net loss of $1 billion for the first quarter of 2020. This compares to net income of $152 million for the first quarter of 2019.
