Osprey, a UK heavy transport and offshore energy logistics company, will add two new flat-top barges to its fleet.

The company will take delivery of the vessels, worth £ 3 million (approximately € 3.4 million), in the first quarter of 2021.

The barges, Osprey Bouwer and Osprey Fabrique , will be 50 metres long. They will have a beam of 18.8 metres and a depth of 3 metres.

Furthermore, the vessels will feature a completely flush 20 T/m2-strong deck, equipped with two 23-metre spud poles. They will also be ABS-certified for unrestricted sailing area.

The barges will handle load outs, interconnection projects, demobs, and other kinds of barge commissions, according to Osprey.

The company said that plans to extend its fleet were in the pipeline for some time.

“Osprey Bouwer and Osprey Fabrique will extend our capabilities, providing even more availability to our clients” , Osprey states.

The company’s barges Osprey Valiant and Osprey Carrier II have already supported offshore wind projects, such as Nissum Bredning in Denmark and EOWDC in the UK.
