EvoLogics underwater acoustic modems were recently listed as Authorized for Navy Use (ANU).

The modems went through Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and The Emergency Ship Salvage Material (ESSM) System evaluation.

The ANU Program provides a list of selected diving equipment, tools and accessories tested in order to ensure diver safety and acceptability.

ESMM executed EvoLogics USBL trials for the purpose of efficient location of fuel tanks in submerged shipwrecks for oil salvage.

Specifically, ESSM hoped to use the system to locate fuel tanks on the wreck of the German battleship Prinz Eugen.

ESSM tested the USBL system in Yorktown, PA using concrete floating piers.

EvoLogics modems utilize proprietary Spread-Spectrum Communication (S2C) technology, which stems from bionic concepts and allows for data delivery in challenging, shallow water conditions for a wide range of subsea applications.

The system repeatedly demonstrated the necessary accuracy necessary to locate specific points on the ship’s hull.

SUBSEA 2020 are US distributors for EvoLogics underwater acoustic modems and other manufacturers of instruments for underwater exploration.
