Malaysian operator taps Tendeka to help boost output

Completions services company Tendeka will provide its inflow control technology to help increase production from Malaysian assets of an independent operator.

The three-year contract will see Tendeka supply its FloSure Autonomous Inflow Control Devices (AICDs) to two fields offshore Sabah, Malaysia, the company said on Thursday.

The work was awarded through Vantage Energy Group, Tendeka’s partner in the region. The contract also has the option of a one-year extension.

Keith Parrott , Tendeka’s South East Asia area manager, said: “Early water and gas breakthrough is challenging for oil producers. Our technology can choke back unwanted water from being produced to surface and enabling higher oil production to be maintained for longer”.

Parrott added: “This is our second major win in Malaysia over the last couple of months, and our third in south east Asia. With the current challenges facing all companies now, these contracts are testament to the hard work of our experienced team and the confidence our clients have in Tendeka and our partners “.

Muhammad Ishamuddin Omar , Vantage Energy Group’s Executive Vice President for Completions, said: “In such challenging times, it is extremely crucial that the understanding of technology has to be relevant in achieving objectives for our clients and our partner has exactly that”.
