MHI Vestas Offshore Wind has awarded DHSS with a contract to manage helicopter services for crew change during the installation and commissioning of wind turbines at the 731.5 MW Borssele III/IV offshore wind farm.
DHSS will be in charge of coordinating the transport of passengers, luggage, and cargo from its logistics hub at Den Helder Airport to the offshore wind project in the Dutch North Sea and back.
Van Oord’s installation vessel Aeolus arrived at the installation site loaded with the first turbine components earlier this week.
“DHSS has been a valuable partner to MHI Vestas in several operations in the North Sea. We’re comfortable with the logistics and transportation expertise of DHSS and look forward to working with them on the Borssele III/IV offshore wind project,” said Ole Jacob Wang Nielsen , Head of Offshore Engineering & Aviation at MHI Vestas.
In total, Aeolus will install 77 MHI Vestas 9.5 MW wind turbines at the wind farm some 55 kilometres off Vlissingen, the pre-assembly site.

The Blauwwind consortium comprises Partners Group (45%), Shell (20%), DGE (15%), Eneco Group (10%), and Van Oord (10%).
Van Oord is also the project’s Balance of Plant contractor. DHSS is also providing Van Oord with helicopter services during the construction phase.
