Marine Power Systems is seeking a naval architect with expertise in design, project engineering, development and construction of large marine structures.

This role would suit someone with a background primarily in naval architecture that has also gained experience of project management/supervision of large marine structure development.

Structural engineering experience will also be highly beneficial.

The candidate would manage and support the design and construction of the main floating structural elements of the MPS technology.

They will be required to primarily work with and supervise an experienced subcontractor that will undertake a work package to design the main floating structure of the system.

The role will also involve project management, technical liaison, engineering, design for construction/O&M.

The design engineer will also be an integral part of a development team, shaping the future of marine energy.

The naval architect position is based at the MPS head office in Swansea.

Experience required:

Degree in Structural/Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or related discipline.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar technical/project engineering role.

Excellent mechanical design capabilities and good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.

Excellent problem-solving skills and able to work with minimal supervision.
