Solstad Offshore has been awarded contracts for two platform supply vessels (PSVs) by an unnamed North Sea operator.

Solstad Offshore said on Thursday that the contracts are for a period of six months firm plus options.

Far Spica will start its charter during June 2020 with Normand Springer or sister vessel to follow during October 2020.

Both vessels will be supporting the operator’s assets in the UK North Sea.

In addition, and as part of the frame agreement with Aker BP, a call off for the PSV Far Solitaire has been extended until the end of 2020.

Namely, Aker BP entered into a frame agreement with three vessel owners – including Solstad – for the supply of PSVs in March 2019.

The duration of the frame agreements is for three years.

The agreement also includes the option of two additional periods of two years each.

The PSV Far Solitaire has been supporting Aker BP’s operations since December 2019.
