Spanish oil company Repsol has been granted consent by the Norwegian offshore safety authority for the life extension of the Rev field, which is located offshore Norway.
The Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) announced its consent for the life extension of the Rev field in the North Sea on Friday, 26 June 2020.
The Rev field is part of production licence 038 C where Repsol is the operator with a 70 per cent interest.
Petoro is Repsol’s partner in the licence with the remaining 30 per cent interest.
This production licence was previously valid until 1 April 2021 under the consent granted back in August 2019.
Repsol’s consent to use the facilities at the Rev field has now been extended until 31 December 2023.
The Rev field is located in, Block 15/12, approximately 221 km from the Aberdeenshire coast in Scotland and 225 km southwest of Stavanger in Norway. The field is located approximately 3 km from the UK Norway median line in water depths of 90 – 110 m.
Rev was proven in 2001 and the plan for development and operation was approved in 2007. Production started in 2009.
The field has been developed using a subsea template with three gas production wells tied to the Chrysaor-operated Armada field on the UK continental shelf and then further to the Teeside terminal for final processing. The condensate is sold as stabilised crude oil.
