The final phase of East Anglia One has started to receive payments under the project’s Contract for Difference (CfD), thus passing the milestone of Operational Conditions Precedent (OCP) to officially start generating electricity under the CfD scheme.

The final, third phase of East Anglia One has an installed capacity of 250 MW and achieved its generation start date on 30 May.

The first of the 102 Siemens Gamesa 7 MW turbines began generating power and delivering it to the onshore substation at Burstall, near Bramford, in September 2019.

The project was later partially commissioned and passed the first CfD milestone in February.

In April, the final of the 102 turbines was installed .

The 714 MW wind farm will produce enough electricity to meet the annual demands of the equivalent of over 630,000 homes.

The £ 2.5 billion (approximately € 2.9 billion) project is a joint venture between ScottishPower Renewables and Macquarie’s Green Investment Group.
