Aker Solutions has secured a five-year contract extension from ExxonMobil for the provision of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the Hebron platform, offshore Newfoundland.
The contract is an extension for a five-year period, starting in the summer of 2020.
Aker Solutions has been providing EPC services to Hebron since 2015.
The work will be led from Aker Solutions’ premises in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
Aker Solutions said on Tuesday that it estimates the contract value to be NOK 1.4 billion ($154.3 million).
This will be booked as order intake in the third quarter of 2020.

The ExxonMobil-operated Hebron platform has recently come under the spotlight due to a near-miss incident when a container bumped a temporary handrail.
A piece of the handrail, which weighed approximately 9kg, fell approximately 20m and landed on the intervention deck below.
Discovered in 1980, the Hebron field is estimated to contain more than 700 million barrels of recoverable resources.
The Hebron platform consists of a stand-alone gravity-based structure, which supports an integrated topsides deck that includes living quarters and drilling and production facilities.
The platform has a storage capacity of 1.2 million barrels of oil. The production started in November 2017.
