Cameron LNG loads 100th cargo

San Diego-based energy company and LNG operator Sempra Energy said the Cameron LNG reached a major milestone.

The facility in Louisiana has recently loaded its 100 cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG), Sempra said in a brief statement through its social media channels.

The company noted that to date nearly 7 million tonnes of LNG have been exported from the facility.

Earlier this month Cameron LNG plant launched full commercial operations at its third liquefaction train , as planned under its Phase 1 project development. The project achieved commercial operations of the first and second units in August 2019 and February 2020, respectively.

To remind, Phase 1 of the export project includes the first three liquefaction trains that will enable the export of approximately 12 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG, or approximately 1.7 billion cubic feet per day.

The project is jointly owned by affiliates of Sempra LNG, Total, Mitsui & Co., and Japan LNG Investment, a company jointly owned by Mitsubishi Corporation and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK). Sempra Energy indirectly owns 50.2 percent of Cameron LNG.
