HSEQ-360 has been awarded a contract by Elmeridge Cable Services (ECS) for a Service Operations Vessel (SOV) campaign at the Hornsea offshore wind farm.

The UK-based provider of Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and Operational services will be supporting ECS during inter-array cable repairs and replacements at the offshore wind farm site off Yorkshire.

In a press release from 27 August, HSEQ-360 said it was selected by several contractors to support upcoming projects in offshore wind.

Prior to contract with ECS for the Hornsea offshore wind farm, the company started working with Lowestoft-based fabricator Alpine Fabrication Services (AFS), supporting AFS on a range of offshore and onshore projects, including the supply of IRATA certified rope access trades personnel to several wind farms.

HSEQ-360 said that it received the first awards in offshore wind after securing UKAS-backed ISO 9001 certification, adding that offshore wind represents a known market since its Senior Management team has already worked on campaigns at Robin Rigg, East Anglia One, Galloper and London Array offshore wind farms.

“We are ideally located to support our customers, and the development of renewable energy” , said Steve Cook , HSEQ-360’s Managing Director. “We help our customers mitigate their risks, and maximise the opportunities offered, such as in offshore wind, particularly on the doorstep of Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft”.

The 1,218 MW Hornsea One, currently the world’s largest offshore wind farm, was commissioned in January.

The offshore wind farm, owned and developed by Ørsted, comprises 174 Siemens Gamesa 7 MW wind turbines.
