Aarsleff BIZ, a Per Aarsleff company, has loaded out the first batch of concrete work platforms (CWPs) for the Windpark Fryslân nearshore wind farm in the Netherlands at its factory in Swinoujscie, Poland.
The CWPs, each weighing 76 tonnes, will be mounted on the project’s monopiles, which are currently being installed at the project site in the IJsselmeer.
According to Aarsleff BIZ, CWPs are a cost-effective, maintenance-free and durable solution for the monopile/transition piece foundations, as well as for monopile foundations without a transition piece.
The 382.7 MW Windpark Fryslân project , being built by a consortium of Van Oord and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, will comprise 89 Siemens Gamesa 4.3 MW turbines.
Van Oord is responsible for the design, manufacture and installation of the monopile foundations and cables, as well as the delivery of the equipment to install the turbines.
Once operational in 2021, Windpark Fryslân will become the largest wind farm in the world situated in inland water.
Per Aarsleff’s concrete precast factory in Poland is also manufacturing CWPs for Bladt Industries and EEW OSB, which are producing 135 and 30 transition pieces for the Hornsea Two project in the UK.
