Oil and gas company CNOOC Limited has started production from the Jinzhou 25-1 Oilfield 6/11 Area located offshore China.
Jinzhou 25-1 oilfield 6/11 area is located in central Liaodong Bay in Bohai with an average water depth of 22.5 meters.
Announcing the project start-up on Monday, CNOOC said that, in addition to fully utilizing the existing facilities of Jinzhou 25-1 oilfield and Jinzhou 25-1S oilfield, the project has built one eight-legged wellhead platform.
According to CNOOC, a total of 19 production wells and 10 water injection wells are planned.
The project is expected to reach the peak production of approximately 16,500 barrels of crude oil per day in 2023.
CNOOC Limited holds a 100 per cent interest of Jinzhou 25-1 oilfield 6/11 area.
CNOOC has had a busy few months with several new projects coming online during the period.
The Chinese company in May started production from the Penglai 19-3 oilfield area 4 adjustment/Penglai 19-9 oilfield phase II project.
The Penglai 19-3/19-9 oilfields are located in Bohai with an average water depth of approximately 28 meters.
Furthermore, in July 2020, CNOOC started production from the Luda 21-2/16-3 regional development in the Bohai Sea.
The Luda 21-2/16-3 regional development project is located in Liaodong Bay of Bohai Sea, about 39 kilometres north of Luda 10-1 oilfield and 90 kilometres northwest of the Suizhong 36-1 onshore terminal.
Earlier this month, CNOOC also produced first oil from the Liuhua 16-2 and 20-1 joint development project in the South China Sea.
The development included one newbuild 150,000 dwt FPSO and three underwater production systems.
