Naval Energies has secured double certification from DNV GL for its floater Design Basis, as well as for all of its major design methods.

According to Naval Energies, obtaining this certification demonstrates that the calculation and design methods are applicable for its semi-submersible floater technology and are aligned with DNV GL’s floating wind standard and recommended practice.

The assessment focused on the overall calculation methods related to hydrodynamics, structure, anchoring and tank test campaigns.

This is said to show that Naval Energies’ calculation and design methods are applicable for the company’s current and future floating wind projects.

“Our objective is to produce, for the pilot farm of Groix & Belle-Île, of which we are partners, but also for future commercial farms in France and worldwide, a floater with the highest standards combining quality, durability and of course technical and economic performance,” said Laurent Schneider-Maunoury , President of Naval Energies.

“By providing proof of the robustness of our calculation and design methods, it brings certainty and therefore confidence to our current and future customers, an essential prerequisite for the industrial and commercial development we are aiming for.”
