Danish wave energy technology developer Resen Waves has appointed Roland Boysen as its new chief commercial officer.

Boysen will be responsible for developing global sales of the Smart Power Buoy for a wide variety of applications.

Per Resen Steenstrup , CEO of Resen Waves, stated: “Resen Waves is growing in capability, size and ambition. The appointment of Roland is key to helping us build the business and to capitalise on the technological advancements we have made with the buoy over the past six years. We are very excited to have him as part of the team and also as an investor.”

Boysen has a 25-year commercial industrial background, of which the last 6 years have been as global sales responsible at RIGTOOLS.

His network within drilling contractors and oil companies and general understanding of the industry mindset should be an advantage when approaching the potential customers with a whole new value proposition for the offshore oil & gas sector; new ways of reducing inspection costs with AUVs and generally surveying and monitoring the seabed before and after drilling and production stage.

Roland Boysen said: “When I first read about Resen Waves and Smart Power Buoy strategy, I immediately pictured myself getting involved. I felt the challenge and the journey ahead was simply too interesting to miss out on and I look forward to being part of it.”
