German LNG Terminal said it has made another step towards reaching a final investment decision.
Following discussions with the German regulatory authority, Bundesnetzagentur, German LNG Terminal received the draft exemption decision.
The company noted in its statement that the decision, yet to be reviewed by the Federal Cartell Office and the European Commission, states that the terminal will be exempted from tariff and network access regulation on a long term basis.
The decision applies to the total annual throughput capacity of 8 billion cubic meters of gas. This is in line with the application of German LNG Terminal and provides a stable regulatory regime to its customers.
The German LNG project is owned by Dutch Gasunie and Vopak, and Germany’s Oiltanking.
Earlier this year, the project selected a Spanish-German partnership as an exclusive candidate for the final phase of its EPC tender procedure.
