Sif has secured a contract with Van Oord for the fabrication and supply of monopiles for the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind project in the Netherlands.

Sif will manufacture 70 TP-less monopile foundations and store them at its Maasvlakte2 facility in Rotterdam in 2022-2023.

“We are grateful for the confidence Van Oord and CrossWind have expressed in their award of this project to Sif,” said Fred van Beers , CEO of Sif.

“For Sif this valuable order, which was already included in our orderbook as a project under exclusive negotiation, is an important contributor to a stable order backlog till mid 2023.”

The CrossWind consortium of Shell and Eneco, which won the tender to build the Hollandse Kust Noord, selected Van Oord this summer as the Balance of Plant contractor for the project.

Located some 18.5 km off the Dutch west coast, the wind farm will have an installed capacity of 759 MW. The plan is to have it operational by 2023.

Sif is also providing the monopiles for the 1.5 GW Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind project.
