Vattenfall looking for DanTysk and Sandbank SOV

Vattenfall has issued a call for competition seeking a service operation vessel (SOV) for the DanTysk and Sandbank offshore wind farms in Germany.

The selected party will provide an SOV to allow accommodation and transfer of technicians via suitable gangway solutions to turbines for scheduled maintenance during the spring and summer campaign of 2021.

The vessel will be based in the Danish Esbjerg harbor.

Vattenfall will consider as SOV any DP2 vessel with a gangway that meets all technical, HS and EnSu employers requirements.

The expected commencement date of the contract is 1 May 2021 with a four-month duration and option to extend three times by one month.

The duration of the qualification system is from 23 December to 14 January 2021.

Vattenfall also recently issued a call for competition seeking crew transfer vessel (CTV) services for the two wind farms.

DanTysk comprises 80 Siemens 3.6 MW turbines installed some 70 km west of the island of Sylt. The 288 MW wind farm has been in operation since 2014.

The 288 MW Sandbank offshore wind farm, located 90 km west of Sylt, features 72 Siemens 4 MW turbines that have been in operation since 2017.
