Wärtsilä’s new CEO to take over in February

Håkan Agnevall will assume the position of President & CEO of Wärtsilä Corporation on 1 February 2021, the Finnish technology company said.

Håkan Agnevall will assume the position of President & CEO of Wärtsilä Corporation on 1 February 2021, the Finnish technology company said.

Wärtsilä’s Board of Directors appointed Agnevall as the new President and CEO on 30 September 2020.

He succeeds Jaakko Eskola who will continue as a senior advisor to the Board and executive team until he retires on 30 June 2021.

Håkan Agnevall has served as President of Volvo Bus Corporation within Volvo Group since 2013.

In the decade prior to that, he held various leadership positions in Bombardier and in ABB, gaining experience in sales, production, project management, research and development, as well as in lifecycle services globally.
