Norwegian floating solar specialist Ocean Sun has appointed Nenad Keseric as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO), while the former COO takes up a different role within the company.

The present COO, Alexander Telje will take position as Chief Commercial Officer, Ocean Sun informed.

Keseric holds a PhD degree in Energy Economics from Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien). He has more than 15 years of experience from the energy industry, most recently as operations manager of the floating wind turbines in Equinor.

The newly appointed COO also has experience as a Board Member in the Marine Energy Test (MET) Centre at Karmøy where he has been representing Equinor since 2012.

Keseric is expected to take up the COO role in May 2021, according to Ocean Sun.

Børge Bjørneklett , Founder and CEO of Ocean Sun, said: “We are pleased to have Nenad joining the Ocean Sun executive leadership team in the important role of Chief Operating Officer. With his extensive expertise of the energy markets and a depth of operational leadership experience from floating renewable technologies, I am confident that he can help Ocean Sun scale to the next level”.

Nenad Keseric said: “I am truly excited to join the Ocean Sun team. I look forward to accelerating development of Ocean Sun to become a global leader in the floating solar industry. With the world in the middle of energy transition, I’m pleased to work with the Ocean Sun team to create and maintain healthy operations and capitalize on the enormous growth opportunities that exist in today’s global market”.

To remind, Ocean Sun has recently unveiled plans to test a full-scale floating solar power unit in the Atlantic Ocean, together with Fred. Olsen Renewables.

The other partners in the project consortium are Innosea, the Technological Institute of the Canary Islands (ITC), and the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN).
