Norwegian offshore vessel owner Simon Møkster has been awarded a new vessel contract from compatriot oil company Aker BP for a drilling campaign in Norway.
Simon Møkster said on Tuesday that Aker BP has called-off the Strategic Partnership Agreement for a drilling campaign starting in April 2021.
To remind, Aker BP in March 2019 entered into a frame agreement with three compatriot vessel owners – Simon Møkster Shipping, Eidesvik Offshore, and Solstad Offshore – for the supply of platform supply vessels.
The duration of the frame agreements was initially for three years, with the option of two additional periods of two years each.
The duration of the campaign announced on Tuesday is estimated to about four months.
Simon Møkster intends to use the modern platform supply vessel (PSV) Stril Mar for this project.
Stril Mar is a large modern PSV built in 2016 and has been employed by Aker BP at earlier occasions.
The 91-meter long vessel of a UT776 WP design was delivered in March 2016. It was built by Astilleros Gondan and can accommodate 25 persons.
“Møkster looks forward to continuing the PSV services for Aker BP”, the company concluded.
