The Great Yarmouth-headquartered Stowen has secured a framework agreement to complete grout connection works at the Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm.

Under the agreement with SSE, Stowen will complete non-destructive testing at the 500 MW wind farm.

According to the company, the complexities of the works involve NDT within confined space with the use of rope access.

“This award is a fantastic milestone for the group and further embeds Stowen in the clean energy arena in the east of England,” said Kieron Ford , Stowen Clean Energy Technical Director. “ My sincere thanks to my team and to SSE and we look forward to a long successful relationship with SSE.”

Greater Gabbard comprises 140 Siemens 3.6 MW turbines located 23km off the UK coast. The 500 MW offshore wind farm was fully commissioned in September 2012.
