Gasum, the Nordic energy company, obtained a distribution license for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in France.

The new LNG distribution license, obtained on 17 February 2021, will allow Gasum to deliver to maritime customers in France and to offer LNG to a larger number of customers. The license thus improves the geographic availability of LNG.

Gasum wants to further expand the geographic outreach and quality of its maritime LNG offering. Further improvement of the service to its shipping customers is also one of the company’s goals.

The license will allow Gasum to add French ports and waters to its supply network.

Jacob Granqvis t, vice president at Gasum, says: “Obtaining this license marks another milestone in our quest to increase the outreach of our maritime LNG deliveries. It underlines Gasum’s commitment to act as a reliable European maritime LNG supplier.”
