TechnipFMC wins first iEPCI contract offshore Brazil

TechnipFMC has won its first integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (iEPCI) contract in Brazil by Karoon Energy for the Patola field.

The contract covers engineering, procurement, construction and installation of subsea trees, flexible pipes and umbilicals.

The project will take place at water depths of 300 meters and will tie back to the existing Baúna floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel Cidade de Itajaí .

Delivery and installation of the equipment are scheduled for the second half of 2022, with first oil production targeted for the first quarter of 2023.

“We are very pleased to receive our first iEPCI contract in Brazil for the Karoon Patola project. TechnipFMC and Karoon have a relationship based on trust and transparency, with shared principles and values , “ said Jon Landes , President Subsea at TechnipFMC.

“ We are proud to apply our integrated expertise to help Karoon achieve its goals. We look forward to supporting Karoon in this and other developments.”

The Patola oil discovery is part of the Baúna field which comprises the Baúna and Piracaba light oil fields, located in concession BM-S-40, in the southern Santos Basin.

Australia’s Karoon has just recently taken the Final Investment Decision (FID) to proceed with the development of the Patola project.

Following the first production, expected in 2023, the project will more than double Karoon’s current production rates.

To remind, TechnipFMC officially opened its brand new spoolbase in the Açu Port, north of Rio de Janeiro State, in February, which will for the first time be used for Mero 1 EPCI project execution.

Most recently in Brazil, the company secured a subsea contract from Petrobras for the supply of manifolds for the Marlim and Voador fields.
