Offshore helicopter operator NHV Group has appointed Laurent Verhelst as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company.

Verhelst will be a member of NHV’s Executive Committee reporting to CEO Steffen Bay . He will begin his employment in mid-June 2021. He is taking over from Liesbeth Tielemans , who has been NHV’s CFO since 2012.

According to NHV, Verhelst is a senior executive with a proven track record and deep financial expertise that stems from more than 25 years of experience in senior positions with successful multi-national organizations.

He most recently served as Head of Finance and IT for the Western Europe division of the HILTI Group, a supplier of tools and systems for the construction and building maintenance industries. Verhelst joined Hilti from Stanley Black & Decker, where he worked for 17 years in various financial positions with increasing functional and regional responsibilities. Prior to that, he worked at Dow Chemical and Paribas.

Steffen Bay, NHV’s CEO, said: “With his deep financial and international expertise, sound strategic capabilities and proven leadership, I’m certain that Laurent is the right person to continue providing a strong financial backbone and guidance”.

Verhelst said: “NHV has unique strengths, a strong business model and a proud history. I am honoured by the chance to start leading its finance organization, executing against the company’s long-term vision, and enhancing value for shareholders and all stakeholders”.

CEO Steffen Bay stated: “I’d like to personally thank Liesbeth for helping NHV navigate through almost a decade of change, helping the company to transform into a top tier player in the helicopter space, despite the macroeconomic challenges within our market.

“Liesbeth Tielemans will be leaving NHV over the summer of 2021 to pursue new professional ambitions”.

In recent company news, NHV in March 2021 won a contract with PSE Kinsale Energy in support of its decommissioning operations in the Celtic Sea offshore Ireland.

Transfer flights towards the Stena Spey drilling rig, about 50 kilometres off the south coast of Cork, were expected to start in April 2021 for a duration of six to eight months.
