Maersk Supply extends stay in Angola

Maersk Supply Service has secured a one-year contract extension for one of its I-class subsea support vessels with an undisclosed “ major ” oil operator in Angola.

Under the contract, Maersk Supply will provide full inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) services supported by one of its I-class vessels, as well as project management and engineering services.

The contract scope also includes an integrated package of field support vessel (FSV), two remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and positioning services, the company said.

“This contract win gives us 1) an extended footprint in Angola, 2) a longer-term contract with a valued customer, 3) and the ability to continue with our local content development plan through our Cadets programme”, said Osvaldo Sechie , managing director of Maersk Supply, Angola.

In the company-related news, at the end of June, the offshore vessel provider won a contract with Libra Consortium for the pre-lay of the mooring system for a newbuild FPSO in Brazil.

Described as the largest ever for the company, the project comprises engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) work at the Mero 2 project and will be carried out over 2021 and 2022.
