The U.S. RETTEW has completed approximately 40% of the construction of the 3.3 MWdc SolMare floating solar project in New Jersey.

Located at the Clayton Sand Quarry in Jackson Township, New Jersey, the project is said to be the first floating solar quarry lake project in the U.S.

According to RETTEW, the first of two subarrays are in position on the reservoir, with several remaining construction units set to be ferried into position in the coming weeks.

Anchoring for both arrays is installed for the project, along with significant progress on the AC improvements for the facility, the company added.

RETTEW is the EPC contractor for the project, Deerfield Electric is the electrical contractor, and VSUN SOLAR is providing the solar panels.

MRDirt is carrying out the underwater anchor installation, with Walker Diving Underwater Construction in charge of the anchoring operations.

The 3.3 MWdc SolMare floating solar project is slated for commissioning this year.
