Faculty of Geosciences Utrecht University has released this very interesting video named ‘Why do these Dutch dunes have gaps? The play between wind, sand and biodiversity in Bloemendaal’.

Coastal geomorphologist Prof. Gerben Ruessink (Faculty of Geosciences, Utrecht University) studies the natural and human-impacted dynamics of sandy beaches and dunes in response to the interaction between waves, wind, sand and vegetation.

In this film he explains why the Bloemendaal coast in the Netherlands hosts his favourite dune region.
