Swedish company Stena Power & LNG Solution has finished model testing of its jettyless LNG solution for Delta Offshore Energy’s LNG-to-power project in Vietnam.
Scale model testing took place at the Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN). Verifying and calibrating Stena ’s computer simulations and research lasted for over 6 weeks.
Therefore, the company tested the following:
Engineers from both Stena and MARINA performed various tests to simulate critical wave, wind, and current conditions specific to local conditions in Vietnam. This is also including 100-year cyclonic and monsoon events.
The tests, as a result, verified and calibrated Stena’s computer simulations and research. This is ahead of construction and deployment of the assets to Bac Lieu LNG to Power Project .

Moreover, Bureau Veritas recently issued an approval in principle (AiP) for Stena’s complete LNG receiving facilities for the DOE project. DNV also issued a similar AiP for the Jettyless Floating Terminal.
