Norway: September oil output tops regulator’s predictions

Norway’s oil production in September 2021 was 1.1 per cent over the NPD’s predictions, while the total volume equalled last year’s figures.

Norway’s oil production in September 2021 was 1.1 per cent over the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s predictions, while the total volume equalled last year’s figures.

Preliminary production figures for September 2021 show an average daily production of 2 022 000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate, according to the NPD’s report on Wednesday.

Total gas sales were 8.9 billion Sm 3 (GSm 3 ), which is a decrease of 0.5 GSm 3 from the previous month.

Average daily liquids production in September was: 1 772 000 barrels of oil, 240 000 barrels of NGL and 10 000 barrels of condensate. Oil production in September was 1.1 per cent higher than the NPD’s forecast, and 0.8 per cent higher than the forecast so far this year.

The total petroleum production for the first ninth months in 2021 is about 170.5 million Sm 3 oil equivalents (MSm 3 o.e.), broken down as follows: about 76.0 MSm 3 o.e. of oil, about 11.6 MSm 3 o.e. of NGL and condensate and about 82.9 MSm 3 o.e. of gas for sale. The total volume is equal to the 2020-figures.
